To: Anglers and Rod Collectors,
The following rods are offered for your fishing and/or collecting pleasure. The definitions of the rods are subjective, therefore, we offer a 5 day inspection period. All rods have bags and tubes unless otherwise noted.
Abbreviations
1. 2/1 - 2 piece, 1 tip
2. 3/2 - 3 piece, 2 tips
3. C&R - Cap and sliding ring
4. Blued - Hardware oxidized blue or black
5. U/L - Up-locking reel seat
6. D/L - Down-locking reel seat
Conditions
1. NEW - Apparently new rod.
2. SUPERIOR - Museum quality rod.
3. EXCELLENT - Near new condition.
4. VERY GOOD - As excellent, but with minor dings.
5. GOOD - Average use- needs some work to bring up to excellent.
6. RESTORED - refinished to original specifications.

19. Model 50DF, 8’, 3/2, 5 wt. Pre fire, patent pending on the female ferrule-butt section.. EXC $1875
21. Prototype Leonard combination rod. 2 rods: Model 50, 8’, 3/2, and Model 36, 6’, 2/2. The butt, mid and tip makes up the 8’. The mid, tip and separate reel seat makes the 6’. Rod includes 2 butts, 1 mid and 2 tips. Made by Tim Simore and Jack Macovitz in early ‘80s. EXC $1400

59. Detrick, Wyatt, 7’6”, 2/2, 4 wt. “Sweet Water” series. A carry on tribute to George Mauer, the “Young Philosopher “ GM Memory DB 101“. Made by a former student of Mauer. Detrick is a well known PA bamboo rod maker. He has made over 350 bamboo rods. NEW $1400

113.Goodwin Granger “Special”, 7 ½’, 3/2,5/6 wt. Lime green wraps. Metal uplocking reel seat, orig. bag and tube. Bamboo flat has the name of Loren Grey, son of Zane Grey. Letter of provenance included. A difficult rod to find in this length. One of the favorites of the Grangers. EXC $1375

67. F.E.Thomas, Special Fairy Model. 8’, 3/2, 4 wt., interwraps, all cork handle and reel seat. Made for a G.G. Townsend. Classic old school rod made by one of the masters. EXC $1100
68. Thomas and Thomas, Hendrickson. 8’, 2/2, 6 wt. SN2685. Made in the mid 70’s for Roy Superior. EXC $2350
69. R.L. Winston. 8’, 2/3, 4/5 wt. SN8178. Pat. pending, hollow built. The following is a conversation with Winston and Co. representative:“This rod was made in 1958 by Doug Merrick in San Francisco and the writing on the butt section by Lou Stoner. It was originally a 1 tip rod with a carboly stripping guide. A second tip was made 10 to 12 years ago with gold wraps and snake guides”. Has a blue bag with Winston Logo for a 2/1 rod and original tube that has 60% of its decal remaining. SUP $2300

72. Edwards, Quadrate- Model 50. 8’,3/2, 5/6 wt. Cork handle and reel seat. Oxidized cap, sliding band and ferrules on this unmarked Edwards. More than likely, this rod was refinished and white pen marking removed. If it was so marked, the price would be considerably higher. Original bag, replacement tube. EXC $1100
73. Guba, George. 8’, 2/2, 5/6 wt. Made by the well known maker and restorer from NJ. He is an underrated and under priced maker. NEW $670
